Breaking Dawn Will Be 2 Movies

zz516ec933 550x181 300x98 Breaking Dawn Will Be 2 Movies

Nikki Finke, a showbiz journalist, has confirmed to Splashfilm.com, that Breaking Dawn, the final book (for now) in the Twilight Saga, will be made into 2 movies.  :) Back to back filming will begin in October 2010. Melissa Rosenberg, screenwriter for the first three Twilight Saga films, has already begun work on the Breaking Dawn adaptation.

It is a smart move for Summit to act quick on the remaining chapters of the Twilight series as the stars are getting older and who knows how long this insane fan craziness will last, really. Also, using the same crew for two films shot together will save on a lot of costs. Deadline says that Summit is looking at “high-end” directors for the conclusion of the Twilight Saga. I really can’t imagine any huge name filmmakers aligned with this series, but I also never imagined David Slade or Chris Weitz would ever be involved. David Slade’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is already in the can and awaiting release in June 2010

Are you as excited about this news as I am?? :D

Happy Birthday Taylor Lautner

happybirthday 217x300 Happy Birthday Taylor Lautner

We here at Twilightseries.co.za would like to wish our favourite wolf, Taylor Lautner, a very happy 18th birthday. Yes, ladies, he is now legal!! :)

taylorlautner 9 200x300 Happy Birthday Taylor LautnerBorn on 11 February 1992, as Taylor Daniel Lautner, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, he has shown he was destined for a successful life from a very young age. He began studying karate at the age of six, training at Fabiano’s Karate School, and by the following year, he was already winning tournaments. He was soon invited to train with seven-time world karate champion Mike Chat and, when he was eight, he was asked to represent his country in the twelve years and under division in the World Karate Association where he proved himself by becoming the Junior World Forms and Weapons champion, winning three gold medals. He continued to flourish in the martial arts circuit; in 2003, at only eleven years old, he was ranked number one in the world for NASKA’s Black Belt Open Forms, Musical Weapons, Traditional Weapons and Traditional Forms and and, by the age of twelve, he had three Junior World Championships under his “black belt”.

However, in addition to his love for karate, Taylor was bitten by the acting bug when he was seven years old, after his martial arts instructor persuaded him to audition for a part in a Burger King advert in Los Angeles. Although he was unsuccessful, he enjoyed the experience so much that he told his parents he wanted to pursue a career in acting. Soon, he and his family were traveling back-and-forth from their home in Michigan to California so Taylor could audition for acting roles on a regular basis. When he was ten, with the frequent traveling and air fares starting to drain them out, his family made the hard decision to relocate to Los Angeles where Taylor would have the advantage of being able to audition on a full-time basis. Although it was a wrench to leave behind friends and family, the move gave him the added bonus of being able to compete on a more intense level in football and baseball.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Taylor has booked roles on ”My Wife and Kids” (2001), ”Summerland” (2004), ”The Bernie Mac Show” (2001), and the The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour (2004) (TV). In addition to television, Taylor has been very successful in the voice over work. Taylor has booked a recurring role as Youngblood on the cartoon ”Danny Phantom” (2004) as well as he has recording two episodes of ”What’s New, Scooby-Doo?” (2002) and ‘Charlie Brown’. Taylor has also booked a series regular of a pilot presentation called Which Way Is Up? (1977) along with the voice of Silas in an animation series entitled ‘Silas and Brittany’.

His big break came in 2005 when, at the age of thirteen, Taylor won the role of Shark Boy in the Robert Rodriguez film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirljacob black 300x300 Happy Birthday Taylor Lautner 3-D (2005). He spent three months on location in Austin, Texas filming, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Within months, he then successfully auditioned to play Eliot, the son of the Bakers’ rival, in Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005).  He also stars as Jacob Black in our favourite Twilight Saga, Willy in Valentine’s Day (2010) and a list of upcoming movies.

In his spare time, Taylor loves playing football and baseball, both sports which he is very strong in. In football, he running back on offense and middle line backer on defense and, in baseball, he takes part in the Hart Baseball Program where he is positioned at center field and second base. He also participates in the LA Hip Kids, a hip-hop dance group. Taylor also enjoys making home movies with his friends, including ‘Sharkboy and Lava Girl’ co-star Taylor Dooley, who lives near his Los Angeles home.

Although, he wants to continue acting into adulthood, he wouldn’t mind becoming a film scriptwriter and director. Certainly, this is one young boy who is bound to do well in whatever he sets his mind to!

Happy Birthday Billy Burke

birthday cake 234x300 Happy Birthday Billy Burke

We at Twilightseries.co.za would like to wish Billy Burke a very happy 43rd birthday from sunny South Africa.  And thank you for being such a great Charlie Swan!

Billy Burke Billy Burke was born William Albert Burke on 25 November 1966, Bellingham, Washington.  He began singing at age nine, and joined a band at age fifteen.  He continued to work with bands and study/performing drama at Western Washington University.  It was as a musician not an actor that Burke first moved to Los Angeles. A demo deal with a major record label that “didn’t quite pan out”, left him to explore the only other thing he “knew he was good at”. With two independent films shot in his native Seattle under his belt, he began auditioning and very soon working as an actor. After a string of mostly “bad guy with facial hair” TV guest appearances, he landed his first studio picture role in the Zucker brothers’ genre spoof “Mafia!”. Capitalizing on his deadpan comedic sensibilities, he then won the title role in “Dill Scallion”, the cult classic “mockumentary” about the rise and fall of a slightly touched country music singer. Co-starring in Dill, was then fledgling writer/director Peter Berg. It was Berg who brought Billy back to television to play Dr. Abe Matthews the acclaimed ABC drama “Wonderland”. Although it’s life on the air was short lived, Wonderland won the hearts of critics and fans alike and was recently re-released in it’s entirety on DirecTV.

Paramount’s “Along came A Spider” marked Billy’s first revisit to studio films. He then returned yet again to television for the second season of FOX’s mega hit series “24″. His disturbing portrayal of abusive father and husband Gary Matheson still resonates as a fan favorite.

In 2004, Billy teamed up with John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix in the firefighter drama “Ladder 49″. It was here that the studios once again began to recognize his on-screen magnetism. So, after another steady stream of notable television performances, he was cast alongside Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling in New Line’s hit thriller “Fracture”, directed by “NYPD Blue” creator Gregory Hoblit. This multi-layered turn as a flawed cop snared by his own aberrations caught the eye of Academy Award winning director, Robert Benton. Benton swiftly invited Billy to join the cast of his and Lakeshore Entertainment’s “Feast Of Love” which included Morgan Freeman and Greg Kinnear. As fate would have it, neither Gregory Hoblit nor Lakeshore had seen enough of Burke’s dry wit and unshakable persona, so when it came time to find a match for Diane Lane in “Untraceable”, he got the call to play the rock solid Detective Eric Box.

Charlie & Bella Swan NM

Since arriving in Hollywood in the early 90’s, Billy Burke has never stopped working. There are countless credits that come in between the afore mentioned that of course, also serve as a testament to his gift and longevity. However, it was a chance viewing of “Dill Scallion” that struck an indelible head turn for director Catherine Hardwicke. The impression Billy’s performance left, lasted until they met in 2007 while Hardwicke and Summit Entertainment were looking for someone to play “Charlie Swan” in their film adaptations of the bestselling book series The “Twilight” Saga. After a brief meeting and read through of a few scenes, Billy and Catherine agreed… it was “meant to be”. Summit followed suit and welcomed him into the franchise. Millions of fans around the world have concurred with the choice and the overwhelming response to his theatrical work has given him solace in the fact that he never got that record deal.

Twilight Flow Chart

When I found this on LettersToTwilight I realised how crazy the Twilight world had become and how dedicated some people are.  I think this is really brilliant and will help all of us to remember who plays whom in the Twilight Saga movies.   This is why they decided to do it :

Dear Twilight,

Enjoy this cause it took for darn near ever.

Yesterday, UC and I were having a discussion about the Wolfpack ladies. UC kept confusing Tinsel Korey with Julia Jones and I was kept confusing Julia Jones with January Jones who she most certainly isn’t and it became clear: We needed a flow cart to remember all these new folks and how they’re all connected in the Twilight world. So I set out to create a master flow chart and as the day wore on (and on) and I remembered more and more connections and it become more of a circle flow chart, cause just like Rafiki tells us: it’s the circle of life and it moves us all.

And what came out looks a lot like a grade school project… next up book reports and a diorama of Bella’s room in a shoe box.

Yea, this is what you do with your spare time when you’re a Twilight blogger.
