Video of Rob’s Acceptance Speech

At the National Movie Awards 2010, held this week, Robert Pattinson won the Best Performance of the Year. Here is a video of the presentation & nominees in the category :0

HollywoodNews.com: For the Best Performance of the Year 2010 category of the National Movie Awards, the UK honored one of its own. Beating out 18 other nominees (including “New Moon” co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner), Robert Pattinson walked away with the prize.

Though Rob wasn’t there to accept the award himself, the show aired his acceptance speech as part of a video statement: “As you can see, I’m on location shooting my next film, ‘Water for Elephants’. Thank you for honoring me with the award for ‘Best Performance’. It means a lot to me because you, the fans, decide the winner. Thank you again for voting for me and voting for everything Twilight.”

The UK-based 2010 National Movie Awards aired tonight in London at 8PM local time. Though not all Twilight actors managed to score wins, the franchise did as well as it possibly could. Kristen and Taylor lost to Rob in the ‘Best Performance of the Year’ category, but “New Moon” and “Eclipse” both won in the categories in which they were nominated: ‘Best Movie: Fantasy’ and ‘Most Anticipated Movie of the Summer’, respectively.

Though Rob has been written off by some as a dispensable beyond the world of Twilight, current projects with Oscar-winning co-stars and, certainly, this award, are coming just in time. Fans who believe in the actor are thrilled by accelerating signals of Rob’s artistic credibility.

Just like last year’s MTV Movie Awards, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner, will be at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, where they will be presenting a new Eclipse clip

You didn’t think we were going to have a vampire-less 2010 MTV Movie Awards, did you? That there’d be no werewolf sniffing out the Golden Popcorn? No beautiful high school girl from Forks, Washington, smiling shyly at the crowd?

Like we’d do that to you! ”Twilight”-verse, prepare, because Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be appearing live and in-house at the Movie Awards on Sunday, June 6, to introduce an exclusive clip from “Eclipse.”

Just let that soak in for a minute, OK? Because there’s more. “Twilight” franchise co-star Chaske Spencer (Sam Uley) will be MTV International’s official red-carpet correspondent, reporting live from the scene outside the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, where some of Hollywood’s biggest names will be stopping by to chat.

This marks the third year in a row that the Movie Awards are bringing youfresh “Twilight” footage. In 2008, the MTV News preshow brought you the first sneak peek at a scene from the original vampire flick. The next year, we premiered an exclusive expanded trailer for “New Moon.” And come June 6, Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner will be bringing you a never-before-seen clip from “Eclipse,” which hits theaters on June 30.

It’ll be a big evening for the “Twilight” kids. “New Moon” is up for five nominations: Best Movie, Best Female Performance (Stewart), Best Male Performance (Pattinson and Lautner), Best Kiss (Stewart and Pattinson) and Global Superstar (Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner). Fan voting in all of these categories is now under way at MovieAwards.MTV.com and will stay open through Saturday, June 5. But voting for Best Movie will stay open throughout the awards show itself, which means you’ll have a chance to affect the night’s biggest prize until the very last minute.

VoteTwilight for the National Movie Awards

Twilight films have dominated the nominations for the National Movie Awards. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are each shortlisted for performance of the year – as are Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. The Twilight Saga: New Moon will compete with 3-D blockbusters Avatar, Clash of the Titans and Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland for best fantasy film. The third installment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is a nominee for most anticipated movie of the summer.

The awards celebrate the most successful films at the British box office and the ceremony will be broadcast by ITV1 next month (Wednesday 26 May) from London’s Royal Festival Hall. Not sure if we will get to see it in SA, but will keep you updated

Nominate ‘New Moon’ Cast For MTV Awards

Several of our favourite New Moon cast members are up for possible nominations in a number of categories for the upcoming “MTV Movie Awards” airing Sunday, June 6 2010. Voting started today and will end next week on Friday, April 9 2010.

We need your help to determine the nominees! It’s your time to “rock the vote” movie style. Between March 29 – April 9 vote to help decide which of your favorite movies will move onto the next round.
