Here’s a glimpse of a few of the DVD screenshots you’ll be able to see on your New Moon DVD.  I’m really glad they gave Victoria (Rachelle) one and of course my favourite is The Wolf Pack – it has Paul (Alex Meraz) in.  And no, I’m still Team Edward ;)

His parents moved to California, where he grew up.  As an undeclared undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he was more interested in playing basketball and was good at it, right until he injured his knee; This plunged him into a depression so he took up an acting class as an “easy course”. That is where he discovered his love for acting. Afterwards, he attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University for a graduate school acting program. Gathegi’s career began in theater, and his stage credits include Two Trains Running at the Old Globe Theatre, As You Like ItTwelfth NightOthelloA Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Cyrano de Bergerac, among others.

laurent edi gathegi 201x300 Happy Birthday Edi GathegiGathegi’s first professional role was the Haitian Cabbie in the 2006 film, Crank. Though he had originally auditioned for the role of Kaylo, the producers gave the role to Efren Ramirez and instead offered Gathegi an appearance as the Haitian Cabbie.  He was dubious at first about performing a Haitian accent, but was coached by his Haitian friend.  In 2007, after guest-starring on Lincoln Heights and Veronica Mars, Edi went on to star as Bodie in Death Sentence, Darudi in The Fifth Patient and Cheese in Gone Baby Gone. He later had a recurring role as Mormon intern Dr. Jeffrey Cole on the television medical drama House, and guest-starred on CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Life on Mars in 2008. before being cast as Laurent in Twilight. When Edi first auditioned for the 2008 film,Twilight, he had not heard of the series and was not aware that his character was a vampire.  He now has read the whole series and calls himself a hardcore fan.  Edi reprised his role as Laurent in New Moon and what a great job he did. :)

5 ‘New Moon’ Secrets

With the release of New Moon DVD only a couple of weeks away, Chris Weitz recently did an interview with MTV to reveal five things you probably didn’t know about New Moon.

Going for the Gold: In “Twilight,” RPattz and the rest of his vegetarian vampire cohorts have gold-colored eyes as a result of abstaining from consuming human blood. For “New Moon,” the vamps’ eyes were clearly more golden. Why’d Weitz have his actors switch to brighter contact lenses?

“It’s a more noticeable gold,” Weitz said. “I thought that in the first film they hadn’t popped quite enough and I wanted to have that sense of otherworldliness carry through more.”

The Silent Vampire: Actress Rachelle Lefevre was notoriously replaced in her role as the vampire Victoria following “New Moon,” with Bryce Dallas Howard taking over the part for “Eclipse.” In “New Moon,” Lefevre is seen but does not speak. Is there a connection between her lack of lines and what happened with the casting decision?

“It wasn’t so much that,” Weitz said. “There was a dialogue scene with her, and eventually that will show up whenever they release deleted scenes. It was one of those scenes that, when you look back at it, it’s kind of a surplus to the whole storytelling requirement of the movie. So there was no ill intent there. I wrote Rachelle and explained why that scene didn’t end up in the film, and in terms of filmmaking I can’t regret it, although I do regret it very much if it hurt Rachelle’s feelings.”

Why So Torn Up, Edward?: At one point in the film, Pattinson’s Edward Cullen appears in a ripped T-shirt, but we never learn why. So … what the heck happened?

“What it’s supposed to be is that he’s essentially been wearing the same clothes for several months, and that eventually they’ve just worn out because, as you I’m sure know, his body is like stone. So he must’ve rubbed up against something and it ripped,” Weitz said.

Our Lord?: In its Italian-set portions, “New Moon” features a significant amount of religious iconography, and Edward certainly suffers a great deal. Is he supposed to be a Christ figure?

“I think that he is in a sense he’s doomed to suffer eternally,” Weitz said. “He actually thinks of himself as a damned figure, but he’s wrong about that. So in some senses, yeah, he is a martyr figure.”

Black Eyes: In Stephenie Meyer’s book, Edward’s eyes go black in Italy. Why don’t his eyes turn in the film?

“It’s because I screwed up!” Weitz admitted.

Really? He just forgot?

“Well, yeah, I kinda did,” he said. “Well, there are two reasons. One is that I messed up. The other reason is that I actually thought that onscreen it would be quite bizarre to see his eyes go completely black, and that it would be more satisfying and less jarring to have that moment of reunion be a reunion with revivified Edward. But probably, the long and the short of it, there are many details that I did not drop the ball on, and there are some that I did.”

Kellan Lutz’s Winter Cosmo Shoot

Kellan Lutz has been very busy lately it seems.  Here are some pics of his Cosmopolitan Magazine’s Winter Shoot :)

Nothing whispers c’mere baby like sweet, soft clothes designed for cuddling on cool winter nights. Featherweight fabrics, oversize knits, and seductive glimpses of skin create a look no man can resist, not even New Moon hunk Kellan Lutz.

Here are some of Kellan’s thoughts on Winter clothes:

“The coolest part about seeing a girl wear something comfortable is the smile that you can just feel coming through from inside her.”

“Layers add excitement. I think, Once I take the sweater off and I’m able to touch her arms, how soft are they going to be?”

“When I’m in love with a woman, seeing her in something cozy makes me not want to let go of her when I’m holding her. ”

“It’s nice to see bits and pieces of a woman exposed. As a guy, you get that mystery — especially when a dress or top isn’t too snug.”

“Women are stunning in clothes that look like they were made for sitting outside a fire.”

“I like a girl to wear oversize sweaters that look like my own — it’s beyond sexy.”

“Your eyes are automatically drawn to that bare part of her shredded jeans.”

Isn’t he just so sweet :) You can’t help love him!!
