Breaking Dawn Will Be 2 Movies

zz516ec933 550x181 300x98 Breaking Dawn Will Be 2 Movies

Nikki Finke, a showbiz journalist, has confirmed to Splashfilm.com, that Breaking Dawn, the final book (for now) in the Twilight Saga, will be made into 2 movies.  :) Back to back filming will begin in October 2010. Melissa Rosenberg, screenwriter for the first three Twilight Saga films, has already begun work on the Breaking Dawn adaptation.

It is a smart move for Summit to act quick on the remaining chapters of the Twilight series as the stars are getting older and who knows how long this insane fan craziness will last, really. Also, using the same crew for two films shot together will save on a lot of costs. Deadline says that Summit is looking at “high-end” directors for the conclusion of the Twilight Saga. I really can’t imagine any huge name filmmakers aligned with this series, but I also never imagined David Slade or Chris Weitz would ever be involved. David Slade’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is already in the can and awaiting release in June 2010

Are you as excited about this news as I am?? :D

Melissa Rosenburg on New Moon

Melissa Rosenburg is the screen screenwriter for the Twilight Series, so far she has written the scripts for Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse, here she explains some of her choices and changes in New Moon :)

“In the book, Harry Clearwater’s death, heart attack is mentioned as something that’s off screen, although it plays a crucial role in the structure of the books,” said Melissa. “Reading that it was Harry Clearwater’s heart attack it just gave me the idea of, why don’t we see this? Stephenie [Meyer] doesn’t specify what caused the heart attack, so I decided, well, you know, if could be caused by something startling him. It could be caused by fear.

It was a way to keep Victoria alive, it was a way to keep Charlie and the hunt alive, the danger to Charlie alive,” said Melissa, “and that’s where we get a really great action sequence with Victoria that all blends together with important parts of the movie and bring parts of the book forward. I particularly like that.”

Breaking Dawn Screenwriter Set

E!Online says that screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, will be writing the script for Saga: Breaking Dawn, but whether it will be 2 movies is still undecided.  But don’t get too excited till everything is official!!

Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg will definitely be finishing what she started when it comes to adapting the fourth and final book of the Twilight SagaBreaking Dawn. Deep Twi tells us that, although it won’t officially be confirmed for a while, Melissa is tapped to finish out the films.

Marc Malkin chatted with Melissa last week, and while she was playing very coy about BD plans (as well as Robsten), using the whole “everything is still up in the air” line, our well-placed source dishes that it’s a done deal.

Like we assured all Twi-fans last month, the entire crew— Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, etc.—will also be back to grace the big screen for the fourth time, too.

So any director updates? And how exactly will the final movie be made?

“There are no formal plans yet,” Deep Twi tells us.

Uh, well, want to know why that is? We’ve heard a bit of incredibly juicy info…

Execs over at Summit are going back to the idea of splitting BD into two films.

Remember, last time we checked in with Deep Twi it was looking like Dawn would only be one movie, but recently everyone internally has been referring to it as “the Breaking Dawn films.” That’s right, you didn’t imagine the plural ending there.

Still, nothing has been decided yet. Most likely what’s happening is Rob ‘n’ crew agreed to a fourth…notfifth. Once the cast determines if they are up for five, then Melissa can plan accordingly about how to pen out this fourth flick.

We’re totally up in the air about what to think here. We kind of wanted to release the cast into the acting wild. No need to drag out this Twilight stuff, especially since they are doing it so quickly, ’cause things get old real fast in Hollywood.

But after hearing that Rosenberg is definitely doing the fourth film we are all about a fifth…but only if someone else writes that one.

The final book in the Twilight series is definitely the craziest—it’s a departure from the previous three, for sure. Hell, Robsten finally do it, ya know? We’re not sure if Melissa is up for this edgy script-writing.Breaking Dawn needs someone like Diablo Cody to stir things up, and while we’re at it, why not haveTaylor Lautner direct the fifth one! After all, that is what he wants to do.

Twi-fans, we know you’re not the best with change, but come on. Don’t you think we need someone like Cody to bring the badass out of Robsten?

Interview with Melissa Rosenberg

Robert pattinson and Kristen Stewart

Eonline! had the opportunity to speak to Melissa Rosenberg, this is what she had to say…

Just because Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are such a perfect match on screen, Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg thinks it’s time we mind our own business about what goes once the cameras stop rolling.

“Their chemistry on film is so extraordinary,” Rosenberg told us at the Entertainment Weekly/Women In Film pre-Emmy party. “They were beautifully cast for those roles and their chemistry is amazing. I think people often confuse chemistry onscreen with chemistry offscreen.”

“I think people should just enjoy what’s onscreen and leave their privates lives wherever they are,” she continued. “I don’t actually know what they are.”

So what scoop did Ms. Rosenberg tell us about our fave vampire movies? Read on to find out…

First up, Breaking Dawn. Rosenberg is not allowed to could not confirm she’s going to be tackling the script. “That’s still up in the air,” she said. “We’re still talking and nothing’s been decided.”

Eclipse’s Riley (Xavier Samuel) will have a much bigger presence in the movie than he has in Stephenie Meyer’s novel. “This is a character that’s really interesting and I got a chance to flesh him out,” Rosenberg said, adding, “It’s going to be really interesting watching the relationship between Riley and Victoria growing.”

As for the next flick to be released, New Moon, she said, “There’s a lot of things that go on in New Moon that expand on the book. The conflict at the end with the Volturi is an example. Building on them is going to be really intriguing for the fans.”

Among the other guests at the EW/WIF bash was Twilight’s original Victoria, Rachelle Lefevre, who is doing just fine since her drama with Summit Entertainment. “To be honest, I sort of feel like I have everything,” the ginger beauty glowed. “I have an amazing boyfriend, I love my house, I’m wearing a great Jay Godfrey dress and I’m at an Emmy party.”

Eclipse & Breaking Dawn: Bring On The magic…

You will all be really glad to know that Eclipse is scheduled to start filming and Breaking Dawn… will be made into a movie!!

Currently Melissa Rosenberg is still busy writing the screenplay for Eclipse and so none of the actors have seen any of it yet, but Eclipse has been given the go ahead, filming for the third installment of the Twilight series will begin filming on the 17 August this year. It will include the same cast we have come to know and love and will be directed by 30 days of night director David Slade. The cast should be heading back up to Vancouver this summer to begin filming :)

Ah, and Breaking Dawn… Robert Pattinson and Ashley Greene have revealed that Breaking dawn will be made into a movie and filming will begin right after Eclipse. Pattinson has signed on for the B.D but presently Kristen Stewart is only rumoured to keep her part as Bella. Summit has been keen, ever since the success of Twilight, to get the movies out as fast as possible to avoid any potential problems so Breaking Dawn should hit theatres in 2011 at the latest (which is not as far away as it seems when we are getting a film every year)

There is no word on who will be directing B.D, according to Ashley Greene, none of the previous directors will work on the fourth film: ”[Eclipse director] David [Slade] and [New Moon director] Chris [Weitz] will both be busy in postproduction, and Catherine [Hardwicke] will be doing Hamlet.”

There have also been rumours about twilight ’spin-off’s’ now that Summit is almost out of Twilight books to make into films, but  more on that at a later stage…

Melissa Rosenberg it was “embarrasingly easy…”

Thanks to one of our readers and Vanity Fair here is an interview with screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who adapted Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series for the big screen. Rosenberg, who learned how to write “teen” on The O.C. and “sympathetic monster” on Dexter—which made her the perfect candidate for Twilight—spoke about her writing process for the hit series:

“I read the book in record time, in one sitting. And I came in and talked to the them, and it was just as easy as it could possibly have been. Embarrassingly easy. It was really like the universe just kind of stepped in and handed it to me. I hate to even say that because I know getting jobs in this town is just impossible and really grueling and pitching and pitching and pitching. I had certainly done my fair share of that. But this one was just one of those meant to be…”

Rosenberg explains how she made sure to stay true to the books, both out of a concern not to disappoint the enormous fanbase, and because Stephenie Meyer had written in her contract that any film adaptation had to stay faithful to the original story. Rosenberg had very little contact with Stephenie while screen writing for the first movie, she did consult with her more frequently on the upcoming sequel; New Moon, which Rosenberg wrote before the Twilight had even come out.

“For the second movie, I sought her out a great deal more, because she has a really intricate mythology that’s very very detailed. And not all of it is on the page, but she’s thought it all out. And I wanted to make sure not to violate that, but also to glean some ideas from her. The third one I gave her the outline, which I normally would never do.”

The biggest challenge about writing New Moon, she says, was that Edward, the porcelain-skinned protagonist played in the movie by official ‘handsomest’ man in the world Robert Pattinson, disappears for half the book. Rosenberg says, “I think we’ve come up with a solution that will satisfy fans that is very much like the book.”
