LA Eclipse Premiere

After 11 Hours to London, 5 hours stop over and another 10 hours to LA, we finally landed at LAX and was picked up by our driver in a Escalade.  Immediately I felt like a star.  We had plenty to keep us busy till Thursday – the day of the Eclipse Premiere.  I could not sleep the night before and was bursting on Thursday.  We headed off to the spa and had our hair done, after which we got ready for the Eclipse World Premiere.  Unfortunately, we arrived late and after collecting our tickets and handing in our cameras and cell phones, we went straight into The Nokia Theatre.  We all received popcorn(which came in an Eclipse cup) & cooldrink.  We watched the end of the red carpet on screens in the cinema.

At about 20h30, the lights dimmed and in walked Robert Pattinson.  The audience went wild.  He was followed by Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner, each time the audience screamed.  And then, Eclipse was shown.  It was the most amazing experience to know I was watching this movie in the same theatre as the stars –all of them seated just in front of me.  The audience showed their appreciation of either the stars or the scenes with a quick clapping of hands or scream (when Taylor was shirtless of course), but they quickly quietened down each time, which allowed us all to enjoy the movie.  After the screening, we filed out and collected our cameras and cell phones, which took quite a while.  We then proceeded across the lot to the roof top garage, where a huge tent was erected and the after party was.  It wasn’t very crowded when we arrived and we sort of just wandered around.  In each corner of the tent, they had raised lounges, which were cordoned off.  This was where the stars were, but you could see them and take photos.  They had food and drinks available for everyone and great music playing.

As I was walking around, I saw Gil Birmingham just sitting on the side having a drink. Of course I approached him and asked if I could get his autograph and a photo with him.  He agreed and then I told him I was from South Africa and he told me he would love to visit one day… Lets hope so!  Next I walked past one of the lounges and saw Taylor Lautner in the on the other side.  While walking round, I spotted Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Reaser and quickly snapped pics of them.  As I approached the other side, I realised that Taylor’s body guards were getting ready for him to leave and I quickly snapped some pics of him.  While waiting for him to leave and possibly get a better shot, who should also be leaving – Stephenie Meyer :) Then Taylor’s body guard made a path for him and guess who they shoved him right past – yours truly!! Naturally I just put my hand out and softly brushed his jacket.  Unfortunately I couldn’t talk to any of them as they were leaving but I got pics at least.

So with them gone and realising that the party was ending soon, I walked round and saw Tinsel Korey & Tyson Houseman chatting.  Standing next to them was Daniel Cudmore and boy is he huge!  Daniel and his date were just leaving and I wanted to stop them and say hi, but I guess I just felt so intimidated by his size!  As I stepped back, I literally walked into Cameron Bright.  He apologised, I apologised and then he said you aren’t from here.  I said no but I’d love to get his autograph and he gave it to me.  I asked someone walking past to take a pic of us and told him I’m from South Africa.  This led us to having a long conversation about the World Cup and why the red card for Khune (South Africa) was so unfair and that they should start thinking of using technology like they do in rugby and cricket!  At this point I was very grateful that my dad had taught me about sport and I could actually have a conversation about it :) .

So thinking this is it, I slowly started heading towards the door, when Kiowa Gordon & his girlfriend rushed past me.  I turned back and standing among a group of fans was Xavier Samuel.  I patiently waited to get his autograph and photo of him, when this short man ran up to Xavier and literally jumped him.  While watching these two men fool about, I realised who this short man was – David Slade.  So when they stopped, I had a chance to either speak to Xavier or to David.  I decided I’d rather chat to David.  I was so nervous to approach him and the first thing I did was tell him I loved his movie and thought he really captured the mood of the book.  He thanked me and that I am huge fan.  He thanked me again.  I then told him I travelled all the way from South Africa to be here and that got his attention.  He asked me where in SA I was from, and told him Johannesburg.  He told me had been to Cape Town a few times but never to Johannesburg and would love to come see it.  I told him he really should and that although Cape Town is beautiful with its mountains, Joburg can offer a lot too!  I asked if he would give me his autograph and would you believe he actually personalised it for me!  WOW!! Then his wife walked up and said isn’t he wonderful and I agreed.  She asked if I would like to have my photo taken with him and I said I would love it!  After that, the other ladies I was with wanted to leave and so I had to head home, but all I can say is WOW!!

I am so glad I got the opportunity, thanks to 5fm, Ster Kinekor & MiMoney and am planning on going for Breaking Dawn World Premiere next year November! :)

Elizabeth Reaser Interview

EW.com have this interview up with Twilight Mom Elizabeth Reaser :) She plays the all but biological mom of the Cullen clan in the Twilight Series, she talks about her top five moments while filming Eclipse…

Elizabeth Reaser 240 Elizabeth Reaser InterviewWhen Elizabeth Reaser dropped by EW HQ last month, she was just happy to be wearing blush — portraying a vampire mom in three movies as part of the Twilight franchise would cause anyone to develop an appreciation for looking alive.

But while dead was always part of the deal — she was playing a vampire after all — what came more unexpectedly was Reaser’s turn as an action star in Eclipse, opening June 30 (as if we needed to remind you…). “It’s definitely an action movie, which I never anticipated being in, and I didn’t even really realize it until they said, ‘Ok, you’re going to fight training five days a week, and then you’re going to a personal trainer for two hours after that every day,’” Reaser said.

The actress, who plays Cullen matriarch Esme, had yet to see much footage from the final product at the time of our chat, but if her instincts translate well onscreen, she said she’s going to be one badass mom. “Esme’s the most loving character in the whole series, in my opinion, but — pardon my French — if you f— with one of Esme’s children, you are going down,” she said, laughing. “…That stuff can so quickly turn into Saturday Night Live if you’re not doing it well. Hopefully, we pulled it off.”

Read on for five of Reaser’s favorite moments filming Eclipse.

“I enjoyed the stuff with Bree [Jodelle Ferland] and Dakota [Fanning]. Dakota is really scary in this movie [laughs]. She’s so unsettling because she has that angelic face, and she’s so terrifying. I mean, genuinely. It was impressive. Her character intimidated our characters so genuinely, which is great as an actor, to watch a 15-year-old come up and scare the s–t out of you. We were genuinely scared.”

“There was an action scene I did with Peter [Facinelli] where we were in a battle. We fight together — because we’re a team and he’s so protective he wouldn’t let me fight by myself — it’s pretty intense. We both do some intensely violent things, which was pretty scary. And I didn’t enjoy that stuff. I realized I don’t like pretending to hit people because it kind of makes me feel bad, like what if I hit them [for real]? What if I get nervous? And so the director was like, ‘You’re not getting mad.’ He tried to piss me off and it worked. [Laughs] He started yelling things at me off-camera to genuinely make me mad. So then I got really mad and he was like, ‘Yea!’ It was a weird thing but a great tactic on his part.”

“I like all the stuff in the house. They re-created the house we shot in back in Portland. I mean, they built the entire house. It was amazing. Every detail was exactly the same. So I really liked those scenes where we were all sitting around, trying to make decisions, and being a family. It’s what you want a family to be, and that’s part of what appeals to me about these books and characters. They’ve chosen their family and chosen to be together — none of us are actually related. So there’s something about all of us being together that’s so nice.”

“Bryce [Dallas Howard] and Xavier [Samuel] have a scene on the bridge. I remember Nikki [Reed] and I were on set for a hair test, and we went down to set to check it out, and it was beautiful and sexy. I’m excited to see it.”

“There was a really cool scene where we meet with the wolves. It’s a complicated thing we’re trying to do; we’re trying to team up with them to defeat the Newborns and save our way of life and save our family. So we collaborate with them, and it’s not easy. So we have this first meeting with them, and what’s funny about it is that they’re not wolves in real life. So they had these cardboard cutout wolves for us for our eye line — because you know they go in there and build the wolves later with CGI. So we were doing these really intense, serious scenes with these hilarious cardboard cutout wolves in the middle of this big forest. It was so surreal. I kind of wish we just shot it with those wolves. I think it would have been really interesting. [Laughs]“

Vanity Fair Gets To Know Vampires & A Werewolf

The August issue of VanityFair will have an interview with some of the lady Vampires & Werewolf from Eclipse.

twilight girls 300x255 Vanity Fair Gets To Know Vampires & A Werewolf

For the August issue of Vanity Fair, Norman Jean Roy photographed the spooky beauties of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse—five vampires (Dakota Fanning, Nikki Reed, Ashley Greene, Elizabeth Reaser, Bryce Dallas Howard) and one lone lady werewolf (Julia Jones). Nancy Jo Sales was on set, where, between takes, the girls mused on the gothic romance that has everyone palpitating.

Nikki Reed plays the disapproving Rosalie Cullen. Here’s her take on the story’s appeal: “Bella and Edward’s love is very taboo and forbidden,” says Reed, “and I think that kind of represents all youthful relationships, because that’s what all first loves feel like. … It’s sort of borderline, like, insane.”

Elizabeth Reaser, who plays vampire mom Esme, exclaims on the attractive young men of Twilight: “Oh, it gets so old, you have no idea,” says Reaser. “It has no effect on me. They’re all gorgeous and lovely boys. … You just want someone interesting and weird at a certain point. I have a massive crush on Larry David.”

Bryce Dallas Howard, a replacement actress playing vampire-with-a-vengeance Victoria, is a Twihard: “I had seen Twilight innumerable times. After I saw it for the fourth time, one of my best guy friends, for my birthday, made me Post-it notes with Robert Pattinson’s face that said, ‘Live Dangerously,’ because I was so obsessed. My husband actually said to me, ‘Do I need to be worried about this?’”

Ashley Greene, who plays psychic vampire Alice, anticipates success: “You don’t have to be psychic to know how this movie’s going to do,” she says. “Obviously, it’s going to be a hit.”

Cullen Family Interview

The Los Angeles Times has put up a killer interview featuring Elizabeth Reaser, Peter Facinelli, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed and Jackson Rathbone collectively making up the Cullen Family. It’s a great read and gives you a bit more insight into the characters as the actors see them.

gallery enlarged kellanlutz shirtless photos 05212009 01 150x150 Cullen Family Interview“The guys are going to bring their girlfriends to this one, mark my words,” said Kellan Lutz, who plays Emmett Cullen. “There’s a lot of fighting, a lot of cool stunts. It’s a little darker. The stuff I’ve seen so far is amazing. Amazing. The music is great. Everything is just really captivating. I’m excited to see it, and I’m excited for the fans to see it. The stunts are so cool. It was a bit weird, like for the main battle scene where the newborns come in. I mean, we’re looking at these cardboard cutouts as we’re acting, as we’re supposed to be head-butting creatures. So to see it live on the screen is so cool. And running on the treadmills to do the chase scene was awesome. We were being pulled by a truck going really fast to make it seem like we were running at vampiric speed. To see it on screen, it looks epic.”

And to keep our male fans interested, here’s an excerpt from Ashley Greene

0002rs3e 150x150 Cullen Family Interview“Yeah, she’s delicate and prissy at times, but Alice gets a little edgier with each installment. And with these vampires messing with her family and the people she loves, you’re going to see a bit of her toughness. It’s a reminder to the audience that even though we restrain ourselves at times, we’re still vampires and we’re dangerous. You’re going to see the dark, dangerous side of Alice.”
