This past Friday Ster Kinekor / MiMoney had a New Moon Party at Taboo in Sandton. I was one of the lucky ones who won tickets to this party. On arrival, we all received a free drink, and showed the photo shoot, whereby you could use their props and have your photo taken. These photos will be available on BiteMyApple this week and you can vote for your favourite. The one with the most votes, will be used as part of the next poster
How exciting!
So back to the party, those who wanted to could get stick on tatoos – either vampire bite marks or the wolf tattoo. Needless to say, I took the vampire bite marks
They also had actors/models who were dressed up as our favourite characters from New Moon: Laurent, Victoria, Edward, Bella, Jacob and Alice (who were all wearing red contact lenses) They were available for photos with the crowd and we made the most of these
!! There were also photo booths available that you and your friends could go have photos taken and printed immediately. For those of us dancing, they had glitter that you could put on, so that you could ’sparkle’ and then they gave out torches to those on the dance floor and switched off the lights – it was brilliant!! all through the night, they gave out snacks, toffee apples, lolly pops etc. It was really well organised and enjoyed by most!
All in all, we had a fabulous time and crawled home at 4am!! It was amazing – thank you Ster Kinekor and MiMoney.
So here are some pics I took during the evening. If you see yourself or someone you know, please feel free to tag the photo and add your own story (I’ve edited the pics – sorry yesterday they were too large to view properly
)
If any of you were there, please feel free to email your pics and we will add them to these

Last year, New Moon Trading Cards were released in US. These were not available here until now and sadly are not cheap. In CNA you can buy these for R29.95 a pack of 6 (which is the only place I have seen them so far). However, they really are amazing and worth collecting. At the back of each card, they have quotes & story lines from the movie.
The complete set consists of 72 Base Cards, featuring 27 Character Cards & 45 Movie Story Cards. There are 25 bonus cards, consisting of 9-card puzzle of New Moon, 6-card puzzle of The Wolfpack, 6-card set of The Volturi Coven, 3-card set of Seeing Alice & 1 Reckless Card.
If you let us know what you have doubles of, we could try help with swapping cards out. I have quite a few already, so start collecting !!
Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter in the Harry Potter movies, is said to lend his voice for the hit animated series, The Simpsons. Not just any episode either: he’ll appear in one part of next year’s “Treehouse of Horror XXI” triptych, the series’ yearly Halloween special, that is the most popular part of the series. Do you want to know what some some of the plot details are? Well, in his appearance, Daniel will play Edmund, a boy vampire whom Lisa falls for. Unfortunately for the Twilight-crossed lovers, Homer and Dracula (Edmund’s dear, old dad), don’t approve of the union, and they endeavor to put a stop to it, which can only have hilarious results. (Obviously not a direct spoof of the Twilight plot).

The Simpsons has thus far left Stephenie Meyer’s vampire series alone, but Harry Potter has been targeted before. One of the segments in “Treehouse of Horror XII,” titled “Wiz Kids,” saw Lisa and Bart attending Springwart’s School of Magickry, where they team up with Harry Potter (not voiced by Radcliffe) to fight Burns in teh guise of the evil Lord Montymort. This was a very funny episode
“Twilight” has remained untouched until now, however, due to the fact that the phenomenon triggered in large part by the the movie’s release is only a year old. On average it takes roughly nine months to product an episode of “The Simpsons”, so which will explain why they are only starting on the series now.
I’m quite keen to see a Harry Potter-meets-Twilight on The Simpsons. I wonder if we’ll see some reference to Cederic Diggory or Robert Pattinson’s participation in both franchises??? mmm
Thanks to The Leaky Cauldron for the tip
