I don’t normally publish rumours and hearsay but I’m a little concerned about this article & the truth to it, and it might not be a rumour, seeing as they are taking so long to announce the details for the filming of Breaking Dawn. However, I will say this that some of it does sound correct but I am not saying that the full article is correct. The source, The Hollywood Reporter, is usually very reliable with its information. So, here is the article as published by The Hollywood Reporter -
EXCLUSIVE: Summit Entertainment is working furiously to close the talent deals required to split Stephenie Meyer‘s fourth “Twilight” novel into two films. But an unlikely roadblock is holding up an announcement — and could even lead to cast changes for the series’ final installment.
The studio is close to finalizing agreements with leads Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, all of whom will get big raises to return for a fifth installment of the vampire romance saga. And director Bill Condon is already signed to film two “Breaking Dawn” movies, which would be shot back-to-back starting in the fall and released in November 2011 and summer 2012, respectively.
But Summit is having a harder time locking in some of the franchise’s secondary characters. Deals for Peter Facinelli (who plays Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Bella’s father, Charlie Swan) are done, but we’re told the actors who play the Cullen kids (especially Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene) are trying to sink their teeth into bigger paydays that, at least at this point, the studio behind the billion-dollar franchise is unwilling to provide. “We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point,” says a source close to the dealmaking.
So are we headed for a recasting on the final “Twilight”?
There is precedent for such a tactic. After the success of the first film, Summit axed Rachelle Lefevre, who played Victoria, in part because her reps played hardball on money. (Bryce Dallas Howard got the job instead.) Now, two films into the series, even the minor Twilighters (Lutz in particular) have become sought-after stars, so it makes sense they’d want to be paid more for the final film. But we’re told that the offers from Summit — which are said to be at least 10 times what the actors made on the first movie — were deemed “offensive” given the mega-money the franchise has generated.
Summit Entertainment has announced that Billy Burke will join Nicholas Cage in the indie comedy ‘Drive’.
Billy Burke (“Twilight“) will co-star in the indie comdey “Drive Angry” alongside Nicholas Cage, William Fitchner and Amber Heard.
The Millennium/Summit Entertainment film is produced by Michael De Luca. Patrick Lussier will direct from a script he wrote with Todd Farmer. Production begins this month in Shreveport, LA, with a February 11, 2011, release date set.
The story centers on a tough-as-nails man with a mysterious past racing through the desert in pursuit of the man who killed his daughter and kidnapped his daughter’s child. Burke portrays a charismatic cult leader whose nefarious influence leads to kidnapping and murder.

We at Twilightseries.co.za would like to wish Billy Burke a very happy 43rd birthday from sunny South Africa. And thank you for being such a great Charlie Swan!
Billy Burke was born William Albert Burke on 25 November 1966, Bellingham, Washington. He began singing at age nine, and joined a band at age fifteen. He continued to work with bands and study/performing drama at Western Washington University. It was as a musician not an actor that Burke first moved to Los Angeles. A demo deal with a major record label that “didn’t quite pan out”, left him to explore the only other thing he “knew he was good at”. With two independent films shot in his native Seattle under his belt, he began auditioning and very soon working as an actor. After a string of mostly “bad guy with facial hair” TV guest appearances, he landed his first studio picture role in the Zucker brothers’ genre spoof “Mafia!”. Capitalizing on his deadpan comedic sensibilities, he then won the title role in “Dill Scallion”, the cult classic “mockumentary” about the rise and fall of a slightly touched country music singer. Co-starring in Dill, was then fledgling writer/director Peter Berg. It was Berg who brought Billy back to television to play Dr. Abe Matthews the acclaimed ABC drama “Wonderland”. Although it’s life on the air was short lived, Wonderland won the hearts of critics and fans alike and was recently re-released in it’s entirety on DirecTV.
Paramount’s “Along came A Spider” marked Billy’s first revisit to studio films. He then returned yet again to television for the second season of FOX’s mega hit series “24″. His disturbing portrayal of abusive father and husband Gary Matheson still resonates as a fan favorite.
In 2004, Billy teamed up with John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix in the firefighter drama “Ladder 49″. It was here that the studios once again began to recognize his on-screen magnetism. So, after another steady stream of notable television performances, he was cast alongside Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling in New Line’s hit thriller “Fracture”, directed by “NYPD Blue” creator Gregory Hoblit. This multi-layered turn as a flawed cop snared by his own aberrations caught the eye of Academy Award winning director, Robert Benton. Benton swiftly invited Billy to join the cast of his and Lakeshore Entertainment’s “Feast Of Love” which included Morgan Freeman and Greg Kinnear. As fate would have it, neither Gregory Hoblit nor Lakeshore had seen enough of Burke’s dry wit and unshakable persona, so when it came time to find a match for Diane Lane in “Untraceable”, he got the call to play the rock solid Detective Eric Box.

Since arriving in Hollywood in the early 90′s, Billy Burke has never stopped working. There are countless credits that come in between the afore mentioned that of course, also serve as a testament to his gift and longevity. However, it was a chance viewing of “Dill Scallion” that struck an indelible head turn for director Catherine Hardwicke. The impression Billy’s performance left, lasted until they met in 2007 while Hardwicke and Summit Entertainment were looking for someone to play “Charlie Swan” in their film adaptations of the bestselling book series The “Twilight” Saga. After a brief meeting and read through of a few scenes, Billy and Catherine agreed… it was “meant to be”. Summit followed suit and welcomed him into the franchise. Millions of fans around the world have concurred with the choice and the overwhelming response to his theatrical work has given him solace in the fact that he never got that record deal.
