Jasper and Alice

Jasper was created in the middle of a war by Maria and he managed her army of newborn vampires. Once their strength began to wane, it was Jaspers job to dispose of them. Peter was one of the newborns who had survived the fighting and on a night when they were destroying the young vampires he was hesitant to help, trying to persuade Jasper to keep some of them. His reason for this became clear when Jasper called Charlotte forward. Peter and Charlotte were in love and, desperate to stay together they fled Marias army. He fell into a depression over his way of life; being extra sensitive to the feelings of others, and eventually left Maria with Peter and Charlotte in search of a better life. He went off on his after a few years, and one day in Philadelphia he was uncharacteristically outside during the day when it started to rain. In order to not attract attention he took shelter in a half-empty little diner.

Alice had a vision that Jasper would find her so she spent many years waiting for him. She knew he was looking for her long before he did. When he walked into the diner in which she was waiting for him she simply hopped down from her stool at the counter and walked, smiling and directly towards him.

Jasper recognized her advance as a potential attack but the emotions he felt emanating from her showed she meant him no harm. The first thing Alice said to him was “you’ve kept me waiting a long time” and Jasper ducked his head and apologised. Alice held out her hand and Jasper took it without hesitation and for the first time in almost a century he felt “hope”.

Alice told Jasper about her visions of the Cullens and their lifestyle, he didn’t believe it was possible but she made him optimistic and they set off together toward a new life.
