Emmett and Rosalie

Both Emmet and Rosalie were born in 1915. Rosalie was a beautiful young girl who had all the luxuries in life and pretty much her pick of wealthy husband in New York where she lived. She was engaged to be married to a wealthy young banker when she was brutalised and left for dead. Carlisle found her and with Edward in mind, changed Rosalie.

Two years later Emmet had been out hunting in Gatlinburg, Tennessee he was attacked and mauled by a bear, having already sustained severe injuries there was little chance he would survive.

Rosalie, also hunting in the area at the time was drawn to Emmet by the smell of his blood; she saved him from the bear. In her human life her friend Vera had a son, Henry, when she saw Emmet with his dark curls and dimples and an innocence that seemed so rare on a man’s face, he reminded her of Henry.

Together they are the epitome of strength and beauty and fulfill each other’s wants and needs in a partner. In Eclipse on page 166,  Rosalie tells Bella her feelings on her relationship with Emmet: “I didn’t want him to die -so much that, even though I hated this life I was selfish enough to ask Carlisle to change him for me. I got luckier than I deserved. Emmet is everything I would have asked for… He’s exactly the kind of person someone like me needs. And, oddly enough, he needs me, too”
