The Runaways, a 1970′s all-girl teenage band with Joan Jett and lead singer Cherie Currie will be the first feature film for Floria Sigismondi who has directed music videos for the White Stripes, Muse and Interpol. The rock ‘n roll biopic will star New Moon co-stars Kristen Stewart (as Jett) and Dakota Fanning (as Currie).
It hasn’t been all smiles on set for Kristen; Joan Jett herself has been on set coaching Stewart on how to play her, but just because it is constructive criticism doesn’t mean it won’t hurt… Kristen was apparently brought to tears last week by Jett: “Joan just wants Kristen to play an authentic version of herself, so she needled her a little bit too much. But she apologized when she realized how upset Kristen got,” said an insider.
Kristen Stewart is absolutely perfect for the role of Joan Jett, watch some of her video’s and earlier performances (she reminds me a little of Kat Von D from Miami ink)

I certainly hope you’re kidding. Even though The Runaways were a throw-away band with not much appeal, and Joan Jett and Lita Ford were the only two of the group to have decent—borderline irrelevant solo careers—Britney “The Whore” Spears is nothing more than a Pop-Tart. Remember, pop music was designed to be filler for in between commercials on the radio.
And by the way, “I Love Rock N Roll” was originally done by The Arrows in 1975. Actually, their original version has more feeling to it than The Blackhearts’ version.
