So, it may sound silly but Robert Pattinson is actually “terrified” by his obsessive fans, so much so that it is making him ill.
Pattinson is in New York City filming Remember Me with co-star Emile De Ravin and is reportedly a shadow of his former self. The 23 year old Twilight star wants nothing more than to escape his newfound fame and head back to London as he is hoping it will be easier to get some rest away from his hard-core American fans “Robert is dying to get back home,” says a source the News describes as ‘an insider’. “He’s so over everything. He’s overwhelmed by all the girls — they terrify him! He says girls grab his neck and clothing all of the time, and he’s not used to that. Fans don’t do that to him in London. Everyone there is a little cooler about the fame thing, which is what he’s used to.”
One of the sources off the set of Remember Me, said “He’s so skinny and stressed. Everyone on set is worried about him.” “He’s embarrassed by the way girls throw themselves at him,” the source told the News. “The girls here are stalking him. He stayed in two different hotels over the course of four days just to try to escape the fans who were following him. He’s afraid that if he gives a hand, they’ll take the whole arm. He’s being advised by security not to encourage the crowd, so he doesn’t even look up anymore.”
Only just a few weeks ago Rob was nearly hit by a taxi in an attempt to get free of a group of rambunctious fans… When will the poor guy get a break…
- Just to add a special request to those of you who are lucky enough to see or meet Rob: take it easy on him, he does seem skittish in big crowds and if he is constantly harassed he may just back out of the Twilight franchise and it will be ruined for the millions of us who are happy enough to just enjoy 2 uninterrupted hours with Rob on our TV screens

I doubt he’ll back out. It’s easy to complain but it’s better than being a no-one :/
I don’t think he will back out – yet, but he will definitely not do as many movies if he doesn’t get some peace. I saw an interview with him on Ellen Show and this was filmed last year Nov, and he was already uncomfortable with the fame. And he is right, in London people don’t carry on like that with famous people. PS Niether do we in South Africa – he can always come hide out here

I agree – I don’t know if you get used to it. If it’s something you wanted, sure, but like RPattz, it wasn’t what he wanted. But that’s why Johnny owns an island and lives in France not in US. It’s the only place where they don’t respect your privacy.
