Who would you cast?

Twilight, the first book in Stephenie Meyers series was made into a very successful movie but has sent many relatively unknown actors straight into stardom. I think most of us are warming to the chosen actors but if you could change any members of the cast who would it be?

I would probably go a bit wild, but I would definitely start with Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle LeFevre). I think they have done a relatively good job but I just don't find them to be 'believable', and I think Victoria's hair needs to be 'redder', "like a fire on the water" -She looks more like a strawberry blonde in Twilight.

This may sound mean but I would change Mike, Jessica, Angela and Eric -none of them seem right to me. They are so different from what the book describes and they seem a bit'empty' as characters.

Out of the Cullens I think I would change Rosalie, Emmett and Jasper, but maybe with better make-up in New Moon they will fit their parts more. I think the problem with Rosalie is that Nikki Reed's skin tone is too dark for her to play the pale vampire -she is supposed to be incredibly beautiful but she isn't, I think a natural blonde would have worked more, Emmett is the opposite -Kellan Lutz is gorgeous but somehow Emmett is so unnattractive to me and Jasper... lol Jasper is just weird

Initially I wasn't too pleased with Edward,Bella and Jacob (and if I hadn't seen Jacob with shorter hair I may still think he was wrong) but they have grown on me so much that I can't imagine anyone taking their parts.

I think I would change Jessica for sure, the others I have grown to like, and then ofcourse Rosalie. I love Emmett and Jasper though But Rosalie is supposed to be the most beautiful person/vampire, I dont even think she's attractive. Alice and Bella are more attractive.

As for Jacob... he's a sweet boy, and he has to stay now or it will spoil the whole series, but they could've gotten someone taller and more mature, knowing that he would grow over 7ft tall and look so much older than he is.

Edward and Bella couldn't be more perfect I saw the movie before finding out about the books so to me they've always been my Bella and Edward.

I watched the movie before reading the books so at first they all seemed to fit but after reading the books I would definitely change Rosalie - I don't think Nikki Reid fits the character at all. There are also a few other minor characters who fit the books but I understand that for the movie the cast needed to be a bit more diverse. I think Mike & Jessica actually fit their roles quite well. I don't like the actress who plays Jessica but I don't like her character in the book either. I think that Taylor could grow into Jacob quite well and although Jacob does look older from New Moon he still has that 'cute' innoccent look that he had from Twilight.

Out of interest, who would you have cast in the roles that you don't like? I personally think that AnnaLynne McCord from the new 90210 series could have made a good Rosalie - she's got that classic beauty look and a perfect body. Apparantly she auditioned for the role of Heidi in New Moon but didn't get it.

She did audition for Heidi and they gave it to Noot Sear -who I just don't see as attractive I think she is another casting mistake

Catherine Hardwicke and Nikki Reed worked together on the movie Thirteen which they wrote together and so apparently when Catherine was chosen to direct Twilight she called Nikki Reed and said "what part would you like?" I am not sure if it is true but it is definitely possible and it makes sense because I don't think they would have cast her if she didn't know someone on the inside.
I know who I would cast in her place, without a doubt I see Elisha Cuthbert as Rosalie.
Kellan Lutz who lays Emmett is such a good looking man but with black hair his good looks are lost -I don't know who I would cast but it would probably be a natural brunette Maybe even Daniel Cudmore who they have cast as Felix in New Moon.

-in fact I think they would have made a super Emmmett and Rosalie!

will think about the rest Jax and post as I find characters

why would i want to change anything now! to be honest i didnt at first agree on all the casting, but they have grown on me now, especially Jacob (because i am team Jacob..altho Bella can hav Ed) i just think i've mentally and emotionally accepted these as the characters now, and thinking of changing it...almost upsets me!! Nikki Reed proved to me she is beautiful when i saw her interviewed later with brown hair, i think she pulls off Rosalie's coldness very well but that yes, it does detract from her beauty..for now, and i think its more important that the feel of a character be right then the exact height or weight etc.. but kudo's to Katherine, beautiful perfect casting (in the end) in my opinion!!!!

I agree that Jacob is really well cast. I know a lot of people say he's not tall enough but it's not easy to find a good actor who's 7 foot tall. I'm really starting to like Taylor and I think he's already matured so much since Twilight which fits in with Jacob's character well.

and Taylor Lautner isn't short!! he's like 5 ft 10 and a half...? unfortunately Rob Pattinson is dazzlingly tall, so, he makes everyone look short, but yea! at least taylor isnt like 5ft 3... meh. im pretty tall for a girl ( 5' 7 or so as long as a guy towers over me, im satisfied!

I know, he's not short at all - it's only when he stands next to Rob he looks smaller but they can easily make people look bigger on camera if they need to. I'm 5ft 1 so Taylor would tower over me! In the New Moon promotional photos Taylor's body looks really ripped. I wonder if he's really that built or if they use make up & photoshop to make him look like that. Either way he's looking really good as Jacob & I much prefer his short hair. I think the vampires are also looking better in the New Moon photos than in the Twilight photos - much more realistic.

everything is actually looking so exciting for new moon, so good, so awesome, im totally psyched, especially with how well i'v seen some characters played so well by the actors so far, its looks like its stepping it up for this one, so i cant wait for November! Jacob oozes the charm and warmth that he should, Jasper looks suitably bloodthirsty, Edward quite broken (at the end) and the rest all great too... its gonna be great!!!

I read the books before I saw the movie so I had an idea in my head before seeing them.
Firstly, I really don't like Nikki Reed as Rosalie - same as most of you. She is just terrible. She isn't gorgeous, she doesn't have a perfect body and she just doesn't have the right feel. I'm not sure who I would have chosen, but even Rachelle would have been a better Rosalie if they did her hair or gave her a wig. I really don't like her.
Rachelle as Victoria, other than her hair colour I think she plays a good Victoria and considering that in Twilight she had such a small part, I liked what I saw.
Emmet - well he isn't the best choice as he should have been much bigger, muscular and bulkier, but he has grown on me.
Jasper, the only problem I have with him is that he is meant to be as tall as Emmet, very muscular, but not bulky. I really Jackson Rathbone and his band is actually quite good, but not sure if he is teh perfect Jasper. But same as with Emmet (Kellan) I have grown to like him.
I originally had my doubts about Taylot as Jacob, but in the New Moon scenes and the way he is bulked up, I think he could really do the part. And if they do the camera right, he will look taller than Edward and everyone.
I love Billy Burke as Charlie though - they really got that one right. I think he suits the part so well I think the best person cast though is Ashley Greene as Alice. She really pulls it off so well and its exactly what I pictured. Well done on that one!

Just figured with New Moon out and all the new characters introduced, like the wolfpack and such, is there anyone you would change?
If I could I would make Alex Meraz every member of the wolfpack so there were 5 of him

Oh Danielle, I'm so with you on this one!! *sigh* He is so HOT and gorgeous and just everything... I would even cast him as the entire Volturi as well

I would leave everyone the same...except for Bella. Kristen Stewart may be one of the worst actors I have ever seen or tortured myself with watching. Me and my roommates thought maybe it was just these movies that she was awful in. We have rented 4 of her movies, all of which were complete disasters. There was one that I watched and she played a retarded girl. She looked the exact same in that movie as she does in both Twilight movies. Last time I checked, Bella doesn't have a mental disorder. I can't get excited for the Twilight movies anymore because she has ruined both of them so far. For a while, everyone though Robert Pattinson as Edward sucked too, but then we realized it was Kristen who was bringing him down.

Until people realize Kristen Stewart is god awful and decided to cast someone better (a random person walking on the street could do a better job) then Twilight will never be good enough for me not to get angry when I watch it.
