Emmett Cullen

Emmett McCarty was born in 1915, we know little about his human life except that he was adventurous. In 1935 while Emmet was on a hunting trip in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where he was living at the time, was mauled by a bear. His injuries were so serious that if it had not been for Rosalie Hale, also hunting in the area, carrying him over 100 miles to Carlisle, he would have died. At 20, Emmet joined the Cullen family as Rosalies partner.

Emmet is a very competitive person; he is frequently making bets and likes entertaining the thought of a good fight. To the human world he is by far the most intimidating member of the Cullen family due to sheer size. He is very understanding and often is the only reason why Rosalie is amiable toward Bella. He has a good sense of humour and enjoys a laugh every now and again at Bella’s expense.

Emmet is a tall 6ft 5. He is described as “big”, he shares the muscular physique of a serious weightlifter. He has dark, curly hair and dimples when he smiles. His skin is pale, paler than Bellas. When thirsty, his eyes are black and surrounded by dark shadows that make him look like he is recovering from a broken nose. His skin feels ice-cold and is as hard as marble. He is very strong and graceful for his burly size.

Emmet is enrolled in forks high school and is a year above Edward and Bella. He is married to Rosalie and has not always managed to stay true to the vegetarian diet.
