More ‘New Moon’ DVD Footage

These behind-the-scenes clip from the New Moon DVD extras includes commentaries on Bella’s style for New Moon as well as the Swan house. We also get to see Chris Weitz and Kristen Stewart discuss Bella and Jacob’s relationship and Taylor’s stunt work on the film. Clip 1: As any good Twilighter knows, some major changes occurred between the first two films. Most significant was the fact that principal shooting was moved from Portland to Vancouver, meaning that many of the real locations utilized by Catherine Hardwicke would need to be duplicated. In this clip, the folks behind the production talk about some of the bigger challenges on the sequel — including rebuilding Bella’s home with a new window for Jacob, and using the film’s increased budget to give the stars a more substantial, adult wardrobe.

Clip 2: “Hey, guys, it’s Taylor Lautner. We are in the rainy cold of the Pacific Northwest, and it is the first day of filming on ‘New Moon,’ ” the boy/man known as Taycob explains at the beginning of this clip, which explains the development of Bella and Jacob’s relationship. “Really, it’s Jacob putting her back together in some way,” director Chris Weitz explains of their dynamic in the middle of the film, as Bella deals with Edward’s absence by growing closer to the teen wolf. “And yet, the sad thing about it is that even when Jacob is helping Bella pick up the pieces as it were, it’s so that she can go off and see her vampire ex.”

Clip 3: Adrenaline-pumped Taylor Lautner puts his fears aside as he’s shooting this action-packed transformation scene, a pivotal moment in the “New Moon” story line. “Bella and Jacob are running towards each other — Bella thinks Jacob is going to grab her and wrap her up in his arms and Jacob [goes] right over top of her,” Taylor tells us as he’s all harnessed up. “I get jolted up in the air 10 feet; it’s kind of dangerous.” The clip gives fans a cool peek at the behind-the-scenes techniques used to get the stunt just right (check out the cardboard wolf standee in the middle of the field). “In the moment, I’m not thinking about the danger involved,” Lautner explained in the footage. “Because I have so much adrenaline going.”

Happy Birthday Kellan Lutz

Kellan was born on 15 March 1985, in Dickinson, North Dakota, USA, as Kellan Christopher Lutz. He has six brothers and one sister and grew up in Arizona.

He started modeling when he was 14 years old. After graduating high school he moved to California to attend Chapman University for chemical engineering, but later decided to pursue an acting career instead. Had he not chosen this path, however, he also considered trying to become a Navy SEAL. In Lutz’s free time, he likes to take part in extreme skateboarding, weight training, track, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, swimming, tennis, racquetball, badminton, snow skiing, snowboarding, dance, and numerous other activities. He also has a passion for horror films, and prefers to perform his own stunts when making films. Lutz has close friendships with his Twilight co-stars, particularly Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone whom he knew before the film began filming. He says that his 23rd birthday was spent with the cast, saying, “I hung out with the cast of Twilight and went on a crazy adventure with a loony cab driver.”

Lutz has acted on a number of television shows. He had recurring roles on Model Citizens and The Comeback, and smaller roles in episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful, CSI: NY, Summerland, Six Feet Under, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Heroes. He was also in the films Stick It, Accepted and Prom Night. He also appeared in the 2006 commercial for Hilary Duff’s fragrance With Love… Hilary Duff, and in the 2007 music video for her single, “With Love”. In 2008 he appeared in another music video, Hinder’s “Without You”. In the same year, Lutz also appeared in the miniseries Generation Kill, based on the book by Evan Wright. He also appeared as George Evans in the 90210.

But we know him best for his part as the ever friendly vampire, Emmet Cullen in Twilight. He reprised his role as Emmet for both New Moon (2009) and Eclipse (due out 30/06/2010). Lutz will be reuniting with his Twilight co-star and close friend, Ashley Greene, in the 2009 film Warrior. Kellan will also appear in A Nightmare on Elm Street as Dean, “a well-liked, well-off high school jock” in April 2010.

Eclipse Behind the Scenes Screencaps

Yesterday we posted the ‘Eclipse‘ behind the scenes video (click here if you have not seen it). Well here are some screencaps from the video of Eclipse. We finally get to see some more characters like Bryce as Victoria, Xavier as Riley and Julia as Leah. I love the way Rosalie looks – I think they have finally gotten it right. And I’m still not crazy about Jasper’s hair, but it looks much better than in Twilight. :) What do you think?

Little Ashes Wins GLAAD Award

‘Little Ashes‘, the movie in which Robert Pattinson plays a young Salvador Dali, won the GLAAD Award for Outstanding Film – Limited Release. Congratulations to Rob, Javier & everyone who worked on this movie.

Little Ashes had a very limited release in South Africa. I made a point to go watch it as I am a huge Dali fan and I was not disappointed. This was a very emotional love story. If you have not seen this movie, and you are able to find a copy of the DVD (as I have), you will not be disappointed.

Kristen Stewart spoke to Access Hollywood about her role as Joan Jett in her upcoming movie, The Runaways and kissing her co-star Dakota Fanning (yes guys, there will be some girl-on-girl action )

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning share a smooch in their new rock ‘n’ roll movie, “The Runaways,” but Kristen said one thing got in the way – the law.

“She was 15, and I wasn’t allowed to grope her,” Kristen, 19, told Access Hollywood on Wednesday at the press junket for her new rocker film. “I’m actually not kidding, there are major restrictions that I don’t remember [from] when I was younger.

“I don’t want to give anything way. It’s a really passionate, hardcore scene,” she continued. “No, it’s just a kiss. It’s not really a big deal.”

“It’s just something that happened in their lives,” Dakota told Access of the kissing scene. “In the script, it’s not like a big build up or something that they talk about afterwards.”

The two play teenage members of ‘70s all-girl rock act The Runaways, starring as the iconic Joan Jett (Kristen) and Cherie Currie (Dakota).

“It looks great in the movie, but we are not close to the musicians that they are,” Kristen said.

But the two loved looking like rock stars – and plan to share their outfits with the women who inspired the film.

“I loved the outfits, I kept most all of them,” Dakota said. “Cherie gave her corsets away and we had them remade for the movie, [so] I’m going to give her one and I think that will be really cool.”

“I gave Joan a leather jacket,” Kristen said. “I wrote all over the back of it.”
