Bella and Edward.com have some new stats for New Moon in box office terms going into the new year
Tuesday’s box office estimates are in. The Twilight Saga: New Moon took in another $957K from 1,593 locations for a per theater average of $601. This represents a decrease of 0.2% from Monday and the film has moved up from ninth to eight place. New Moon’s domestic total is now $282.887M after 40 days in release. The current worldwide total is $664,393,961. Due to the closing of Summit Entertainment’s offices for the holiday, box office numbers since last Thursday are only estimates and we will not be able to post actual figures until next week. The numbers being released now are based on those submitted by theater owners, other studios, and industry analysts.
After having dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since its release, coming in at #11 over Christmas weekend, New Moon has now climbed three places in two days. This is due to a combination of steep drops for newer films along with continued positive word-of-mouth, as well as repeat viewings, for New Moon.
We here at Twilightseries would like to wish you a wonderful new year However you choose to celebrate it, please remember to be safe, hope to see you here again in 2010
Vampire Diaries is a hit new TV Show based on the book series, it is (like most vampire stories) nothing like Twilight. Clevver TV look at the differences between characters and more importantly Twilight Vampires VS Traditional Vampires. I personally love both ’shows’, however I must admit that Elena has got to be a better Role model than Bella (who is prepared to sacrifice her soul for her first love) think back ladies, is the man in your heart the one you first loved? If he is, count yourself lucky because normally it seems he is just the first to break it. Bella got lucky but not all young girls at sixteen experience eternal love (and luck) like Bella did Just a thought…
We’re back again this year with a Twilight Saga Desktop Wallpaper Calendar for 2010 (after the huge success of our 2009 calendar). This is our little Christmas gift to you, and our way of saying thanks for yet another year with all of us at Novel Novice Twilight!
There’s a buzz building about some deleted scenes from New Moon and them appearing on the DVD as a bonus feature. The Vampire Club says the outtakes are from when Edward brings Bella back from Italy. Here’s a translation from their site:
This scene does not appear in the movie. I suppose for the moment when Edward brings Bella to his house, Alice holds his backpack orange. Edward has the same clothes as in Bellas bedroom scene, after consulting the rest of the Cullens and the final scene with Jacob their outfits seem to match
Enjoy
UPDATE: Here is a picture one of the deleted scenes featuring Rachelle Lefevre
CGSociety.org have a really cool article about the New Moon wolves and just what the process demanded of the people involved. I was incredibly impressed with the wolfpack and think that the creative team did an unbelievable job in bringing these giant animals off the pages of the twilight novels and breathing life into them on our tv screens. If you would like to see more on this, click the above link, it is really a fantastic article and definitely worth checking out. Here are some pictures from the site but for the full ‘visual effect’ you should go there yourself
The challenge wasn’t just to build a believable wolf, but to build five unique wolves of extraordinary size and weight, to portray that mass often with little more than the surrounding trees as comparisons, create believable fur and humanesque eyes that weren’t distracting. Nate Fredenburg, Art Director, helped to make sure those requirements were fulfilled, combining real-world attributes and CG magic.
“At Tippett Studio, we always look to real-life creatures for reference on how to design our characters, real or mythical. For New Moon, we had a special opportunity to travel down to wolf sanctuary in Southern California to observe wolves up close and personal. The key to looking at live reference is to form a knowledge base, study the creatures, their quirks and behaviors, the language between the pack. We looked for signs of what the creature was about and added those to the visual effects to make them believable.”
Actress Julia Jones plays Leah Clearwater in the Twilight Saga and we get to meet her in the upcoming film Eclipse. She talks to Radar online about New Moon, Eclipse, the wolves and her take on the series.
Here is a part of the interview but it is a video interview so if you would prefer to watch it, click here
As the only female member of the Wolf Pack, she distinguishes herself not with a pink bow on her wolf, but tells us her wolf “is smaller than the other boys and it’s light gray.” She said that the boy wolves are “huge!
Just like the guy wolves and the vampires, Julia had some tough physical scenes while filming Eclipse. As she filmed her scenes of becoming a werewolf she described jumping up and landing on a mattress for the action. “I realized after 18 takes that I was landing on the ground and I had dirt on my chin. I couldn’t lift my arms for four days!”
Julia, who is currently starring in the Los Angeles play Palestine, New Mexico, told RadarOnline.com’s Alexis Tereszcuk about what the cast ate at craft services and what they did during their down time while filming Eclipse. “We ate a lot of chocolate, anything round that was throwable.” Julia said that Taylor Lautner has the best aim out of the bunch and “it got very competitive, how many grapes or chocolates could you get in someone’s mouth.”
Julia also described that she thinks the theme of Eclipse is immortality. “New Moon is about heartbreak. Eclipse is about immortality.”
Watch Julia talk about filming Eclipse, which will hit theaters on June 30, 2010.
A little Christmas fun with Rob, Kristen and Taylor where they pick interview questions out of a Christmas Stocking lol, it’s a great idea though I was a tad convinced that there was actually only one question in the stocking but alas, Kristen proved that theory wrong
